Loved every page.
June is the author of a bestselling novel and now her secret muse has been revealed. Of course none of the steamy scenes she wrote about actually happened with Nic…but a girl can dream right? And then write about it? But once he is revealed as the inspiration to June’s novel his life goes from Bluegrass celeb to a nobody when his father kicks him out of the family band. This is not at all what June wanted for the married man. Yes she had feelings for him but she doesn’t want to be a home w [...]
Lovely. That's the word that comes to mind. Take Me for Longing is a lovely story about two people whose lives follow divergent lines, but manage to intersect once. That brief contact sets their lives along lines so discordant it seems they'll never find their way back to each other. Nic is a nice guy, maybe too nice. Grounded in the world of Bluegrass music, he's thrown off kilter by things he can't, or won't, talk about. On his own now, he's struggling to put him mistakes behind him and find a [...]
This was a quick fun read, full of love, laughter and some good ol’ bluegrass. I’ve never read a bluegrass romance before and I have to say it was pretty refreshing to have something a little new. Most people aren’t exposed to bluegrass music but I can honestly say I have been. My great grandma and my grandfather listened to it sometimes when I was a kid, so it’s kinda cool to be able to picture it. I liked the story line and the characters were very entertaining but there were a couple [...]
This was a lovely story of Nic, a Bluegrass Country Music Heir Apparent to his dad, and June, a bluegrass fan and a writer who turned her crush on him into a bestselling novel. The story itself is a good one, with lots of lovely conflict both caused by June and outside of June entirely. And I totally heart Jackson and Emily. However - for me, and maybe it's just me, I had a hard time following the whole timeline of the story. When June's secret gets blurted out on a Bluegrass Festival stage - tha [...]
***I won this book through a Giveaway!***I've read several romance novels lately, and I have to say that this was one of my favorites. I loved the fact that the story was short and sweet. It followed the "formula" typical of romance novels, but it was more of a midday snack instead of an all-day meal. The characters were very interesting and likable, and I appreciated that I didn't have to fight through a lot of text in order to find out what would happen to our love interests. If you're lookin [...]
A novella that revolves around the world of bluegrass music. The main character, June, begins the tale by alienating the one person she is madly in love with. The ensuing events unfold with some light-hearted banter as the two meet and try to reconcile even though the developing events seem to be tearing them apart. A fun read that will allow you to dream about living a comfortable lifestyle on the California coast. All's well that ends well, or does it? I received this book for free on .
Felice Fox has single-handedly converted me into a fan of novellas. Even though TAKE ME FOR THE LONGING is only 100 pages, it's extremely satisfying. Steamy love scenes. A captivating story. Relatable characters. And, I very much enjoyed the bluegrass music angle. (Musicians with southern twangs are hot!)
